Cooper Point Association - Land Use Activities
by Gary Sprague - C.P.A. April 2005 Newsletter

The Cooper Point Association monitors and comments on proposed developments and land use changes on Cooper Point. With our limited resources we have focused primarily on how large developments could negatively affect Cooper Point residents.

The issues associated with developments have included increased traffic congestion, increased run off, sewage management, landscaping, aesthetics, land clearing, open space, light pollution, contamination of Green Cove Creek, the number and types of lots, and connections to existing streets.

Because the Growth Management Act limits development outside the Urban Growth Boundary, development activities have been focused in the southern end of Cooper Point. The Urban Growth Boundary includes the City of Olympia, and extends roughly as far north as 3300 along Cooper Point Road.
